Our data visualization competition is underway and open to all University of Pittsburgh students & staff! Students from all schools and programs, from undergraduate to post-doctoral levels, from health sciences to humanities are invited to submit graphic representations or images of qualitative or quantitative data related to vaccinations. A virtual panel of community and government representatives, researchers, faculty, and students will review the submissions and vote for winners and honorable mentions. Winners will be awarded a monetary (gift card) prize and recognition by faculty and university leadership. They will also be featured in local press and on the university website!
Rubric/guideline for data visualization submission will include: What is the information or issue that you are trying to conceptualize, clarify, or explore? What is the data source? What is the methodology? (resource and tool utilized to produce this data visual)? What is your interpretation or conclusion? How could your data visual be used to further engage the public, policymakers, and/or other scientists?
